Backsliding . . .

Well, it was a short reprieve. I can barely walk. I'm starting to look like a duck as it waddles along slowly looking for a pond to paddle around instead of walk. I think it's going to take a visit to a specialist to figure this one out. It's so frustrating and I just want some relief! Although it's my right knee that's giving me the problem, my left knee is starting to hurt. That's why I look like a duck!

Unless things change, I will be missing my FIRST Saturday with the group. Man, I've really been proud to have the "perfect attendance" thing going. Of course, it takes more than being there every Saturday to get to Chicago. It's definitely going to take more determination and positive thinking to get me back on the road. This week I've felt "positive" that I'm out. I don't want to feel that way! But it's hard not to when the pain is so bad. It really makes me wonder if this is it.

Please keep me in your prayers that I will start to improve and make a speedy recovery. I really want to be out there with you guys every step of the way. If I don't see you Saturday, I hope you have a fun at the Cannonball Run and a wonderful 8 miles!

    Sheila,

Please come even if you are not running Saturday. You ARE a part of our group and it will not be the same if you are not there!!!
We are all in this together and we are going to stick it out together! You are having a set back that is overwhelming right now. Remember it is not about the running anyway. The running part just gets us to the good parts - life changes, healthy eating and attitudes, and most important - friendships.
If we need to, we will get you a bike so you can ride along with Clark and Robin for awhile!
Don't get discouraged and give up!!!! We need you!
    Jana

I second that emotion, Jana! We certainly will be praying for you and hope this is a temporary setback. Take care of you, we have time.
    See you Saturday!

Oh Sheila, I hate this for you! But it is temporary, I'm sure! It sounds like tendonitis and many of us have endured this. It's awful I know but you can get through it. Are you icing, resting and ibuprofen-ing? That's what helped me. Please come! We need you!

Hope you can make it Sheila, even if you have to walk it with us. I liked Jana's idea of getting you a bike! Take care...cg
